Canada Skilled Migrant Category

The Skilled immigration programs offer skilled workers/professionals with relevant education, experience & skills a viable pathway to settle in Canada by obtaining a Permanent Residence visa along with their family.

Most of the skilled immigration programs are point based systems where candidates are awarded points on the basis of their age, education, work experience, language proficiency, among other criteria. The higher-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for permanent residence.

Canada

Known as the land of immense opportunities, Canada is one of the world’s most sought-after destinations for international migrants. Owing to a large number of people retiring in Canada every year, the need for skilled manpower is growing tremendously.
Canada’s stable economy, high standard of living, educated & multi-cultural society and low crime rates make it one of the most preferred destinations for migrants worldwide. It is on top of the list for immigrants owing to the innumerable facilities that this maple country offers coupled with lenient immigration laws and warm reception that the immigrants receive.
The Canadian government is keen to welcome highly educated and technically skilled professionals from across the world, who can contribute to its economic growth and settle here. The federal government is aiming to bring over 1 million new immigrants to Canada by 2021, which makes it one of the most opportune times to apply for Canada immigration.

Provincial nominations issued under these Express Entry-aligned streams are known as 'enhanced nominations' and award Express Entry candidates an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

This is the application process for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents of Canada and live in Quebec.
Quebec has a special agreement on immigration with the Government of Canada. The province has its own rules for choosing immigrants who will adapt well to living there.
To immigrate to Canada as a Quebec-selected skilled worker, you must apply in the following 2 stages:

  • Apply to the Government of Quebec for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de selection du Quebec [CSQ]).
  • The Province of Quebec will assess you, using its own rules.
  • The certificate shows that the Province of Quebec has accepted you as an immigrant.
  • If the Province of Quebec chooses you and gives you a CSQ, you must apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence.
